Day 1:

We walked from our hotel (Panoramic Grand) to Puerto Iguazu bus station and took Rio Uruguay bus to the entrance of the Argentina side of Iguazu Falls. Again the fares are cash only, no credit cards accepted at the bus station. After paying for the entrance tickets (credit cards accepted here), we entered the park. If you are visiting 2 consecutive days, you should save the ticket stubs as the 2nd day is 50% off.

There are 3 main hiking routes on the Argentina side of the falls – the Lower circuit, the Upper circuit, the Green trail. We did the upper circuit on the first day and the lower circuit on the next day.

After we were done with the upper circuit, we got back to the train station and took the train to the entrance of the falls. We signed up for a boat ride with Gran Aventura. We were lucky that a couple of slots were open right away and we did not have to wait long. First part of the tour is taking an open air bus to the boat dock, followed by descent of a long series of steps to the water. We were first provided dry bags for our phones, clothes, shoes and then the guides ensured we were properly fitted with life jackets. I have done many tours and this was probably one where I was most satisfied with the safety protocols that was administered by the crew :).

It was an exhilarating ride on the boat towards the falls.

The crew had advised us to secure our phones before the boat went close to the falls. Following is the edited GoPro video that the crew shot and we secured our copy for USD $10.

After the boat ride we were taken back towards the entrance gate of the falls by the open bus. All in all it was a very memorable albeit tiring day of our trip.

Day 2:

This day we had a late afternoon flight back to Buenos Aires so we had only half a day to see the Lower circuit route of the Argentina side of Iguazu falls.

View of the falls where our boat got us wet the day before 🙂

We wanted to take a video of the other Gran Aventura rides to relive our excitement from the day before.

Towards the end of lower circuit we got these 2 falls
