Starlux is the 3rd Taiwan based carrier that flies to the USA (although it only flies to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle as of now). Starlux flies A350-900 for its USA routes and they feature 26 Collins Aerospace designed suites in 1 x 2 x 1 format. There is no separate first class but the 4 seats in first row are much larger with higher privacy doors and wider IFE screens and are sold as first class.

After dinner the crew fitted the seats with mattress cover and I went to sleep for a good long 8 hours. The seat cushion is great for sleeping and the doors ensure privacy and lack of disturbance.

Breakfast started about 2 hours before landing.

Breakfast (Braised beef short-rib hash, sourdough slice, poached egg and chimmichuri sauce) , Fruit Plate

Bottomline:

Seat: *****

Service: ****

Food: *****

Starlux Airlines is now my 2nd most favorite Business Class experience (after Qatar Qsuites). The seats are spacious, private with doors, comfortable for long sleep. The dining had good options and plenty of choices for different palates. The flight attendants were very courteous, eager to please and always pro-active in keeping the drinks refreshed or clearing up the table.
