MilesPointsTravel Disclaimer: This review is solely the work of Karen. I personally did not fly these 2 segments.
I have flown the Thai Airways on these same 2 sectors (CCU – BKK, BKK – TPE) before and during those times the seats were mainly recliner seats in 2 x 2 x 2 configuration. This time on the Boeing 787, the configuration stayed the same but the seats were flat beds. For such short flights, even recliners are good enough but not gonna say no to flat beds :).
The CCU-BKK flight leaves very late past midnight and I went to sleep right after takeoff. I declined meal service so no additional photos for the segment.
For my next flight from BKK – TPE, it was an identical aircraft (Boeing 787) with 2 x 2 x 2 configuration seats that converted to flat bed.
For 2 back-to-back short flights, these were mostly uneventful and unmemorable.
Bottomline:
Seat: ***
Service: ****
Food: ***
I am rating it a 3 * only because its 2 x 2 x 2 in a business class. Considering the distance of this flight, its more than adequate. I would not even hesitate to fly Thai long haul if traveling with my husband in these middle seats.
Thai service generally is above average compared to other carriers. The food was fine for the BKK – TPE flight.
