This was our first time flying Air Mauritius so we were excited trying out a new airline. Air Mauritius A350-900 Business Class has 28 seats (7 rows of 1 – 2 -1 seating). The window seats alternate between having side table facing window (odd rows) and facing aisle (even rows). The even rows provide a bit more privacy than the odd ones. I had selected even row window seats for me and Karen and middle rows for my parents but during check-in the agent somehow unbeknownst to us had reassigned me to an odd row window and Karen to a middle aisle (!!). Anyways it was only a 5 hour flight so did not make a big deal out of it.

The flight to Mauritius leaves very late past midnight so meal service is done only once, 2 hours before landing. Right after takeoff, switched seat to bed and went to sleep. The seat was comfortable for sleeping and even though its a fairly short flight, was able to use the time to get a good night sleep.

Breakfast service started 2 hours before landing.

Air Mauritius Business Class Breakfast
Breakfast – Herb cheese omelette with potato wedges, mushroom, fresh fruit & croissant and yogurt

Bottomline:

Seat: ****

Service: ***

Food: **1/2

The seats were more than adequate for the short 5 hour flight and I wouldn’t even mind having this type of business class seats on ultra-long haul flights. The bed was comfortable for sleeping in.

The breakfast was adequate but nothing extraordinary.
