Flight: Korean Air KE 652 from Bangkok to Seoul
Duration: 5 hours 22 minutes
Equipment: B773(Boeing 777-300)
Class: Business
Seat: 12H(Aisle)
Seat Specification: Seat pitch: 74″, Seat width: 21″, Bed length: 6′
Korean Air flies multiple versions of Boeing 777-300 in its routes and the business class seating can range from 2-2-2 full-flat Apex Suites to 2-2-2 Angled-flat seats. I have flown both versions before and was glad to experience the Apex Suites again. Apex Suites are my favorite type of business class seats right behind Qatar Qsuites (and now the Starlux Suites). Even though these seats don’t have doors, they provide much more privacy than reverse herringbone configurations in just about any carrier.
I usually prefer the window seats on the Apex suites as they are more private but by the time I booked the flight, all window seats were gone and only the aisle seats were left.
This is a very late night flight (about 1 hour past midnight) and no dinner/supper service is provided and breakfast is served prior to landing. Right after takeoff after seat-belt sign came off, I converted the seat to bed mode and went to sleep. This is a fairly short flight of 6 hours and I still managed to get a decent sleep.
Breakfast service started an hour before landing.
Bottomline:
Seat: *****
Service: ***
Food: ****
This is my most favorite non-suite (without true doors) seat. I like this seat above almost every reverse-herringbone flat beds out there mainly because of the privacy it provides even with lacking doors. The seat has comfortable cushion for sleeping and to top it off the wide footrest instead of footwell accommodates all types of sleepers.
The Laksa was incredibly tasty and its been a long time since I had this Singaporean/Malaysian dish and enjoyed it thoroughly.
