MilesPointsTravel Disclaimer: This review is very light on photos. My phone was snatched from my hand in Santiago, Chile at the end of the trip and since I did not backup my photos to cloud, I lost majority of the photos taken during this trip. Only photos that my wife took with her phone made it to the trip report.
Day 1:
We were staying at the Buenos Aires Marriott Hotel which was only a 2 minute walk from one of the iconic Buenos Aires landmark, the Obelisk.
We decided to walk from our hotel to Mercado Central, a great place to have lunch or dinner while visiting this city. We stopped by the Obelisk to take a snap and continued walking.
While exploring the city on the way to the central market, we saw some interesting artistic pieces. After lunch at Mercado Central, we took a cab back to the hotel to take some rest before our afternoon 2.5 hour free-walking tour. The tour starts at National Congress and ends in Plaza de Mayo.
Our tour guide went over history, politics, economics and various other topics in between. It was quite informative and entertaining at the same time.
Day 2:
For our 2nd day in Buenos Aires, we started the day with another free 2.5 hour walking tour. This tour starts from Teatro Colón goes through 3 different neighborhood and ends in Recoleta. The weekend flea market (Feria de Recoleta) was happening and we spent 30 minutes visiting different shops.
After spending time at the flea market, we walked by the Buenos Aires University Law building to a tourist attraction, the Floralis Genérica.
Next we went back to Mercado Central for lunch. For dinner we walked from the hotel to Pizzeria Guerrin that had great reviews. When we got there the line was almost 40 people deep and decided to just skip it and while walking on Avenue Corrientes we went to another pizzeria nearby.
