Flight:  EVA Air BR282 from Cebu to Taipei

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

Aircraft: A333(Airbus 333-300)

Class: Business (Premium Laurel Class)

Seat: 7A – 7C (Window + Aisle)

Seat Specification: True Flat Bed, Seat pitch: 62″. Seat width: 22 ”

EVA Airways operates lie-flat seats in 1 x 2 x 1 configuration in mostly long-haul routes (branded as Royal Laurel Class) and in 2 x 2 x 2 configuration in mostly shorter routes (branded as Premium Laurel Class). On our Airbus A-330 flight from Cebu to Taipei it was the latter. Oddly Seatguru marks these seats incorrectly as angled-flat which is furthest from the truth. They are indeed completely lie-flat.

Pre-departure Beverage – Orange Juice

Me and Karen both had pre-selected our entrees online a few days before the flight. Both appetizers and entrees were served in a single tray on one go.

My Lunch Entree – Grouper Iberico Ham Snap Peas Lyonnaise Potatoes

I really liked the foie gras mousse for appetizer while the grouper for entree was a miss for me. The fish lacked flavor.

Karen’s Lunch Entree – Wok Fried Chicken Thigh with Chinese Yam and Ginkgo nut served with Assorted Vegetables and Zucchini Rice
Dessert – Cherry Custard Coffee Cake

After lunch, the crew dimmed the lights and lowered the shades.

Even though this is a very short flight, I still wanted to try out the seat in flat bed mode and was not disappointed. The padding is firm enough for good night sleep. The only downside is the very narrow cubby hole for your feet.

Bottomline:

Seat: ***1/2

Service: ***

Food: ***

The seats being fully lie flat are overkill for such a short flight but I would not mind these seats even on long-haul flights provided I was traveling with family (due to lack of direct aisle access for all seats).

The catering on the flight was ok but nothing stellar.
