Day 1:
We arrived at Caticlan International Airport on a short 1 hour Philippines Airlines flight from Cebu International Airport. I had already pre-booked a transfer package for seamless transfer for the trip. It included Bus transfer from Caticlan Airport to Jetty – ferry from Caticlan to Boracay – Bus transfer from Boracay Jetty to hotel and back in reverse order at the end of our trip. Total cost was 20 USD per person round-trip.
It was late afternoon when we checked into Ambassador in Paradise hotel in Boracay (located in Station 1). We decided to have dinner at the resort.
The Adobo chicken was very tasty and our introduction to the Philippines cuisine for the next 5 days. I was not too amazed by the Lapu Lapu fish. It was still a memorable experience having dinner with such nice ambience.
After dinner we walked along the beach from Station 1 to the D’Mall in Station 2 and back.
Day 2:
For our first breakfast at the resort, to set the tone for the entire stay, I tried all the Filipino dishes they had on offer especially the fried fish.
After breakfast at the resort, we hit the beach. The beach on Station 1 is really beautiful with white sand, fairly uncrowded and shallow for a great distance.
Late afternoon we walked along the beach from Station 1 to 2 to reach D’Mall.
We decided to have lunch at a restaurant located inside D’Mall. We ordered to share a pancit palabok (seafood noodle dish) and Halo Halo Ice-cream for dessert. The seafood dish was very tasty as was the Halo Halo. If you are in the Philippines and want to try a local dish, you cannot exit the country without at least trying this dessert once.
After lunch we walked around the D’Mall and took selfies by the sign.
After returning back to the hotel we took some rest and had dinner later at the resort again.
Day 3:
Started the day with breakfast at the resort, followed by spending a few hours at the beach either in the water or the beach lounge chairs provided by the resort.
For dinner at the resort, we had a repeat of the previous night, ordering whiskey sour for drinks and a seafood pizza. The Pizza was very tasty with fish, shrimp, calamari in generous portions.
Day 4:
I was introduced to some new Filipino food during breakfast – Filipino Beef Tapa, along with some more fried fish.
After breakfast we spent most of the day on the beach, either in the water or just walking along.
Late afternoon we walked from Station 1 to D’Mall again and had a couples massage at the Casa Fiesta Spa by D’Mall. After the very relaxing massage, we shared some chicken satay over a bowl of Nasi Goreng and some delicious Lumpia for dessert at the Boracay Beach Truck.
After lunch we took a tuktuk (main mode of transportation in the island) from the D’Mall to the hotel.
Day 5:
This was our last day at the Ambassador in Paradise resort and were notified of a strict checkout policy. We woke up early and walked along the beach till the end of Station 1 where we found some great spots for taking pictures.
After breakfast we spent the next couple of hours at the pool enjoying our last day at the resort.
Since we had to checkout from Ambassador but could not check-in at our next hotel (Hennan Prime Beach Resort) till 2 PM we decided to go to D’Mall and spend a couple of hours having lunch and shopping. First stop was trying a greek salad and a gyro at Cyma Restaurant in D’Mall.
Next we walked to the Boracay Beach Truck again where we had been before, to have the Chicken Satay with Nasi Goreng again. 🙂 When I like something, I guess I don’t try something else!!
Returning back to the Hennan Prime Beach Resort we were able to check-in and decided to just spend the rest of the afternoon lounging on a beach chair and having some drinks.
We spent about 4-5 hours just lounging around and people watching at the beach. When it was time for dinner we decided to dine at the resort itself.
Day 6:
This was our last day in Boracay and started with an elaborate breakfast at the Hennan Prime.
Since our pickup time was 1 PM for afternoon flight back to Cebu, we spent only like 2 hours at the beach and afterwards got picked up by the transfer company from the hotel to Boracay Jetty.
