MilesPointsTravel Disclaimer: This review is solely the work of Karen. I personally did not fly this segment.
The last time I flew on Singapore Airlines business class was during our Maldives trip with my hubby. Since then the business class cabin seems to have undergone some cosmetic refresh but essentially still have angled-flat seats with 2 x 2 x 2 configuration. Although they are not full lie flat, I was not too troubled by it since the flight was only about 6.5 hours.
After boarding, the flight attendant gave us lunch menu and took drink orders. I had already pre-selected entree using Singapore Airline’s “Book the Cook” menu.
The Quiche was delicious but unfortunately the same could not be said about the dessert. The cake was very dry.
After lunch, I just reclined a little and read my book and watched a movie. A decade ago, I would have slept soundly on this seat but after being so incredibly fortunate to having been pampered in flying flat bed seats it just did not feel comfortable at all.
Bottomline:
Seat: ***
Service: ****
Food: ****
While not ideal, an angled-flat seat in 2x2x2 configuration is good enough for a short 6 hour flight. If this were a trans-Atlantic or trans-Pacific flight, I would rate it lower. On the upside, the seat is wider than most of the business class seats out there.
The service was good, typical of Singapore Airlines. The flight attendants were professional, caring and spoke good English (no language issues).
I was happy to have used the “Book the Cook” option again. The quiche was quite tasty and I did not have to pick from their in-flight menu.
