Disclaimer: This airline review was solely the work of my wife Karen. I was not a traveler on this flight.
I was really excited about this flight as it was my first ever flight on a true flat-bed product. My husband has already had enjoyed 3 true-flat bed Business class product in the past few years (namely on United, Asiana and Singapore) so it was my turn now. 🙂
I arrived at LAX a couple of hours early and after enjoying the Star Alliance Lounge at the newly refurbished Tom Bradley Terminal, boarded the aircraft. The business class cabin was laid out in 1 x 2 x 1 configuration with direct aisle access for each seat.
I had selected the seat 2A, the window seat right behind the bulkhead seat.
There was so much legroom that I was not even able to reach the back of the front seat even by stretching to the max !!
I also liked the easy access of the charging port, right next to the remote holder.
The Rimowa amenity kit was really cool. I ended up using the moisturizer cream in the flight itself. The pajama fabric felt very comfy although I did not change into the pajamas during the flight.
Dinner service started about 20 minutes after takeoff. The roasted duck breast was delicious!!
The beef fillet was good. It was well done and had a tasty truffle sauce on it. The mashed sweet potato was yummy.
The dessert plate consisted of fruits and an Apple Tart. It was all delicious.
After dinner, I laid out the seat in bed mode and prepared for a good night sleep. The blankets by EVA Air are the best!!
After a long 8 hours sleep, I woke up and watched a movie and then tried to go back to sleep again. About 2 hours before landing they served breakfast.
The french toast with berries is probably the best in-flight meal I have ever taken this far. It was that good !! 🙂
After finishing breakfast and just dozing off for about half an hour, it was time to land in Taipei.
Bottomline:
Seat: *****
Service: ***
Food: ***1/2
I really enjoyed the seat on this EVA Air flight. This being my first experience with a flat-bed business class product, I was not disappointed at all. The service was standard, although there were a couple of instances of language issues with the crew.
