Flight: Singapore Airlines SQ 602 from Singapore to Incheon
Equipment: A333 (Airbus 330-300)
Class: Business
Seat: 12 H (Window), 12 K (Aisle)
Seat Specification: Angle Lie Flat, Seat pitch: 60.0 “. Seat width: 24.5 ”
Singapore Airlines runs an A333 in this mid-haul route. There are 30 Angle Lie Flat seats in this cabin with 2 x 2 x 2 configuration.
After boarding, we were offered champagne/water/orange juice for pre-departure beverage. We were planning on ordering some Singapore Slings after takeoff so we decided to go with water for now.
We were also offered the lunch menu choices. Since this flight originated from Singapore it was eligible for “Book-the-cook” service. We had ordered this service for this segment and the previous SIN-MLE segment.
After takeoff we both got our Singapore Slings and some warm nuts. I must say that on any of our previous segments we never received such assortment of nuts (cashews, peanuts, chickpeas and almonds). As usual, the Singapore Sling was very refreshing.
Pretty soon they started lunch service. First up were the appetizers.
Karen: I loved the tabbouleh and shrimp combo.
Karen: I had ordered the Seared Salmon Escalope over snake beans and potatoes. The salmon was very juicy and flavorful.
I had ordered Singaporean Style Chicken and Lamb Satay with spicy peanut sauce. Karen seemed to love the sauce a lot but I didn’t care too much for it.
For dessert, Karen got the Mango Pudding.
I went with the chocolate cake with raspberry sauce.
After lunch, I decided to watch a couple of movies. The AVOD had an extensive selection of movies and music.
I watched “Arbitrage” first and then more than half of “Taken 2“.
Meanwhile, Karen adjusted the seat to full recline and took a nap. This is the biggest difference that we felt compared to our previous trips in coach. At the end of every flight we were pretty much felt well rested. After this entire itinerary on business, it would be a pain to go back to coach again. 🙂
Bottomline:
Seat: ****
Service: ****
Food: ****
The angle-flat seat was the same on all of our Singapore Airlines flights this trip (CCU-SIN and SIN-MLE-SIN). Other than those crappy blankets, we had no complaints.
We loved the “Book the Cook” service preparations again on this flight (our previous experience with “Book the cook” here). When we travel to Asia in the future, I would definitely pick Singapore Airlines over Asiana or Thai for short/mid-haul flights just to avail this service.
As far as service goes, it was outstanding on this flight. The cabin crew came by quite a few times to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our flight.
