We arrived at the resort by speedboat from Male around noon. After an expedited check-in we were shown our sea-view beach house.

After freshening up we decided to do a quick tour around the island. You can walk around the entire island in about 20 minutes.

Walking by the ugly sea-breakers

Since we are after all in the tropics, pretty soon we were dying to get into the water to cool off. The water is warm and clear with almost no waves in the swimming areas.

The front beach is close to the jetty

After spending about an hour or two (who counts time during vacation? :)) we decided to move to the pool. After playing around in the pool for a few hours we went back to our room to change and then decided to walk around the island some more.

Swing-set by the sea view villas

Afternoon and evenings are low tide time and water recedes from the swimming area at the back of the resort. This is where the over-water villas are. When the water recedes from the lagoon here, it starts to look kinda ugly. Keep this in mind if you are paying for the over-water villas.

The swimming area at the back of the resort looks pathetic in low tide

Pretty soon it started getting dark. The resort does not have lamp posts around the island. Instead there are fake rocks around the island with concealed lighting and maps for the resort. We went to the Bokkuraa Club for dinner around 8 PM. As expected, the menu is very pricey. But we kinda knew that while planning for this trip.

We had the red snapper fillet and chicken wings. They were some of the best chicken wings I have ever tasted.

Chicken wing was awesome

It was a moonlit night and it was very romantic walking around the island back to our room. I tried to take a picture but it didn’t come out so well
