Aloft Bangkok
35 Sukhumvit Soi 11, Sukhumvit Road,Bangkok 10110, Thailand
Aloft Bangkok is a hip, modern, upscale hotel in the heart of Bangkok on Sukhumvit soi 11, right off the street from the BTS Nana station. For those interested staying in this hotel using points, here is what you need to know.
- Category 1 SPG property
- SPG Free Nights Redemption: 2000 – 3000 Starpoints/ night (based on dates and availability
- SPG Cash & Points Redemption: 1200 Starpoints + $25 USD (subject to availability)
The hotel is located in a busy Soi 11 street off of Sukhumvit road. It is a 3 minute walk to BTS Nana station that connects you to the rest of Bangkok. There are restaurants of all sorts and varieties right on Soi 11 (all within 2 minutes walking distance). There are the famous street food vendors of Bangkok, cafes, some German and Australian eatery and even a 7-11 close by.
The lobby had modern decor. Check-in was quick. After they swiped my card for incidentals, the bellhop took my luggage to my room.
I had arrived on Christmas Day early morning and the giant Christmas tree decked the main lounge. Past the reception and bar/cafe area is the gaming area. There was a foosball table, pool table, a PS3 station and some beanbags in front of a giant flat panel tv. There were 3 computers on the left side for internet/email access.
The room was very small for a king-bed room. I was pleased to see an Ipod docking station by the bedside.
I never did ask if the two bottled waters were complimentary or if I was going to be charged for them : ). I would have liked them to put a toothbrush and toothpaste along with shampoo and conditioner. But you get what you get.
The toilet is on the left past the sliding door. The shower area is pretty small and water splashes a lot outside the shower area as the floor of the shower and the bathroom are on same level without a divider.
My one minor gripe was that the hotel only provided 2 towels instead of the usual 4-6 towels usually provided in US hotels.
I did not try the Buffet Breakfast or any restaurant at this hotel. I would recommend trying out the various restaurants on Soi 11 instead. I had breakfast at Au Bon Pain (Continental Breakfast) and lunch at Bawarchi restaurant (Indian cuisine) all on the same Soi 11 within 1 minute walking distance.
I forgot to take pictures of the rooftop swimming pool.

Thumbs down:
- Small sized rooms for a king-bed
